Around 10:15 PM Central, the twitter world exploded Monday night announcing that the Texas Rangers were the team with the winning bid for Yu Darvish, the Japanese super star pitcher. The bid is reported to be $51.7 million.
The 25 year-old Darvish threw six shutouts last season for the Nippon Ham Fighters. He was 18-6 in 2011 with a 1.44 ERA, and has already won 93 games in his career.
The Rangers now have 30 days to sign Darvish. If they fail to do so, the posting fee will be returned.
